Compare and contrast - The First Part Last & Homeboyz

In both books they struggle in their life's family and friends. In the book Homeboyz it's about this guy named Teddy who's sister Tina was killed in a drive by but randomly because it was also just a hit ad run. Teddys family was devastated and mad since they "ran" the streets the boys thought they should do something about it, and that means fight or kill one or do something back. Teddy was arrested because he attempted homicide after his sisters loss. In the book th first part last, Bobby is a father and at a younger age and is worrying about keeping his daughter Feather.  They bothering of relate be used they struggle a lot and since they are from the "hood" they get to more trouble and are also seen as poor people. They are also very different because it's  a different situation, in Homeboyz Teddy lost his sister to a drive by and in The First Part Last Bobby just needs to figure out what's better for Feather.

The first part last

In the book, "The First Part Last" I feel has a lot of intense, the reason I say that is because Bobby has a girlfriend named Nia and they have a baby together named Feather. The live with Bobby's mom and are going to move back with his dad because he feels like it's a better place to raise Feather. He has his doubts on keeping her because he's still young but when he sees how his friends and family are with her he notices something, that she brings them together. He realizes that he never loved anyone as much as he loves Feather. The reason it's intense is because he doesn't really know what to do with his life and having a baby makes him think about everything he has to do and everything he needs to do to keep Feather and him wealthy and happy.

The first part last

In the book " The First Part Last" by Angela Johnson is about this couple who has a kid but isn't really prepaired for having one yet. The story goes from when they had the child to before they had it. It's like  every chapter is different the flirts one started with now and the next with then, and so on and so on. It's a really good book because you don't really expect so much from it. The couple doesn't really want the baby but at the same time they do because they can't really resist her. I feel like the baby and the father had this connection because in the book he talks about how beautiful she is and how she lays on him and breaths. I feel like this is a very important part of the book because he explains all these things which might make him want to keep her.

My story- summary

In the book My Story by Elizabeth Smart she goes on telling us her experience of when she was kidnapped and used. She was only 14 at the time and she was put through things we can't even imagine or want to. She was taken by a guy named Brian David Mitchell and by his wife Wanda Brazee, they would abuse her, rape her and kept her chained. They would sometimes have breakfast, lunch and dinner together but in nudity. She would cry but not  loud enough for them to really notice because she wanted to be strong and not weak, she also didn't want to show weakness to them because if she did they would be able to hurt her more. She was taken a couple of places because they didn't have a house and they needed to move around a lot, they lived in a tent most of their life's. Elizabeth had convinced them to go back to Utah, she had said it was gods decision and he would want that for the better. Her plan was to get noticed in her hometown and when they agreed to go back they noticed her quickly even when she was disguised. She had got noticed by this police officer and was asked questions and that's when she said she was Elizabeth Smart. She returned home after nine months and barely told her story because she wasn't that ready to talk about what had happened to her.

Conflicts- My Story

Some conflicts in the book I'm reading "My Story" by Elizabeth Smart is that she got kidnapped from her own house in the middle of the night and was abused and raped. This is the major conflict in the book because she was 14 when this all happened and it took 9 months for people to find her or spot her. She wasn't really fed or taken good care of because all the guy who took her (Brian David Mitchell) wanted to do was use her and take advantage since she couldn't do anything to help herself. His wife had helped him take her and use her. When she was found it was because she had been seen with them on the street. In the story she says, " I wiped my tears away, but inside I was crying even more. He was so...heartless. So cold and unfeeling." What this is showing is that she can't really do this anymore but she's not going to show him she's weak, she wants to be strong but it's impossible for her not only because she can't  really do this herself but because she is only 14 years old and people are doing things to her we don't even want to imagine.

The secret language of sisters

In the book The Secret Language of Sisters by Luanne Rice there is this amazing quote on page 111. " I wanted her to talk to me for once, to know I was here and not feel the way we had when talking to our dads grave, when we knew he was gone, that he wasn't really here." I really like this quote personally and think it is such an amazing quotes and powerful. The reason I'm saying that is because she's saying that even though I'm in coma and can't talk I just want you to see through that if I was here. Like since there dad died and when they visit his grave they usually talk to him like he's there but not there and she doesn't want to her sister to feel like she isn't coming back. This quote can also go to a lot of people because it's like saying even though you lost a lot of people in your life and someone else tries to reach you, don't push them away, because even though Roo is in coma she's still there for Tilly and she wants her to know that.

Compare and Contrast

In the book The Secret Language of Sisters and The Future of Us there is a lot of similarities in both books. But then again they also have a lot of differences and that's what makes both books amazing. In the book The Future of Us, Josh and Emma are like best friends and can tell eachother anything. One day Emma gets this computer and you need this CD I think so it can works and Josh ends up giving her one because he knows she has a computer and he doesn't. What they don't know is that in that CD is a Facebook app and that didn't exist and it tells them there future. This can change there life's forever because if they see their future and don't like it they can mess up everything they ever had. In the book The Secret Laguage of Sisters, Roo gets into this car accident that puts her in coma and it's kind of Tillys fault. In both books this can really affect both of their life's. The reason I say that is because Roo might die. And that changes everything.

The secret language of sisters

In the book The Secret Language of Sisters by Launne Rice there is a lot of conflict. In the Roos and Tillys dad died like a year or two years ago and they kinds both have there different way of expressing that. Tilly is the younger sister and is very unpaticent. She hurries her sister to pick her up and while she's driving Tilly keeps texting Roo. Roo is usually never late mostly always earlier than everyone. So while Roo is driving she decides to text Tilly back, (guess we all know what happens) she gets into this really big accident but she hits this dog and that's the only thing she's worried about. She's in the hospital and is put in coma but everyone thinks she going to die. Tilly thinks it's her fault and once her friend says it is and has proof she finally realizes it. This causes a lot of drama.! In the book it states, " 'You caused her accident?' I asked, practically screeching. 'No Tilly. You did.' " this is showing that this is going to cause a lot of problems for Roo, Tilly and her family.

🌸 Spring fever 🌸

The thing I'm most excited to do in spring is go to Wisconsin Dells. It's a really amazing and fun place to be in, it's also very beautiful to me. Like there downtown I'll say, I love walking there when it's dark and just take a look at all the stores and the lights at night. I'm also getting ready to go to pools, smell freah air like flowers and the rain but also feel good about it. I'm also looking forward to planting and spending more time outside with friends and family. I enjoy the outdoors, and the wilderness. I'm also looking forward into going camping with some friends and explore and experience new things. One thing I am going to do during spring is stay of my electronics and social media so I enjoy the moment while it last without worrying about my phone and what other people say and post. Like my mom said if my friends really want to see me they should knock on my door and not just text, it'll be better and that way we can spend more time together and with family instead of our phones.

The book thief- A-Ha moment

In the book The book thief by Markus Zusak Leisel realizes a lot of things. She realizes that not all Jews are bad, or not even that, that jews aren't bad at all. The only reason she said that was because of all the things people would say about them. When her foster dad starts hiding a Jew she's worried, but then she gets to know him. She figures out his name is Max and that he can't read. She ends up helping him and starts building this friendship with him. That's when she realizes that Jews aren't bad at all, they're the same as any other human and they are also not so different. In the book it states," Max looked so lonely, Liesel swallowed. And she walked over and hugged him for the first time. "Thanks, Max." This is showing that Leisel still treats him the same way as other people and only because he is a Jew he is no different and she wouldn't mind giving him a hug like she would to her foster parents.

Anne Frank

Some problems that Anne had faced was that she had to live in a attic for years and she barely had enough food for her family. She couldn't go outside or look out the window for any reason at all, no fresh air and no friends to see. She was always optimistic which was really good, especially for her age. She also had to be quiet at a certain time because they were afraid they would catch them and take them to a camp. She had lost friends and family members, I can also relate to this because I had a few family members and friends pass away.

Question 12

I think that the reason some people were bystanders was because they were scared to stand up and be up standers. The reason I think that is because since the Nazis were taking over they can kinda do anything they wanted to. The thing that I think people were up standers was because they actually new what hitter was doing was really bad and they needed to do something and they also new that they couldn't just sit there and watch that happen to people. I think I would have probably been an up standers even though I would probably get killed I wouldn't care because I've done what was right and I think a lot of the People would have appreciated that.

The Book Thief

The main character in this book is Liesle. She's an orphanage who was taken my her foster parents. What I like about Liesle is that she has a lot of spirit I'll say. Since she can't read her foster dad try's to help her so she can learn and in my opinion be a little bit more educated. Liesle has this great way of seeing things I'll say. She ends up stealing a book from the fire the Nazis did for all I think Jewish books. She also has a kind heart which I saw when Hans her foster dad took in a Jewish man since his father saved his life. She ends up helping him read and write and spell all these words. At the same time she was teaching someone and she was also becoming a bit more wiser.

Costa Rica

I would really love to go to Costa Rica! It looks like a magical place, it's so beautiful and looks amazing. When I see pictures of it I just really hope I can go there sometime. I would love to see all the waterfalls, that's one reason I would really want to go there. I would love to try other stuff like their food. I think if I were to go I would have an amazing time so I'm planning on it.

Compare and contrast

In the book Backlash and Out of my mind there was a few similarities and some differences. Some similarities I saw was that in backlash Lara gets bullied ten times more than others kids which to me she gets treated differently and in the book Kut of my mind Melody gets treated differently because of her disability. Since they both get treated differently they end up having a ruff life, Lara because she gets picked about her weight, people try to "catfish" her which was her best friend and also people somewhat threatened her before. Melody had a ruff life because she couldn't do things like all the other kids for example walk, talk, eat, shower herself or even simple things. At school she ends up being in this team but once the team didn't tell her about the flight things went wrong. Some differences I saw was that Lara had her former best friend and her best friends mom ruin her life and Melody just had person problems that made her life harder than everyone else.  That's what I noticed but I also love both books they all have this amazing "story" and I think that everyone can learn something from both books.

Out of my mind.

In the book Out of my mind by Sharon M. Draper the one problem is that the girl melody has this sort of problem she has to deal with her whole life. She has a photographic memory. She can't talk, walk, write, feed her self or any of those things. She's like the smartest one in her school but no one knows that, even teachers and students think she's not capable of learning when really she is. I really don't like that because you're supposed to help the students try to be successful no matter what and even when the teachers think you aren't very capable of learning, what does that prove to melody. Been the doctors can't really "fix" melody or even try to understand her. In the text it states, " None of them can fix me, so I usually ignore them and act like the retard person they think I am." I really like how she said this because it's like she's saying since they can't help me, why should I try to cooperate with them when all they think is that I'm a retard. I just really love how that was said. This also showed that even the people that can help her, they don't because they think she's a "retard" I'm her own word.

New Years resolution

My New Years resolution is to stop being so nice because I noticed that when I'm nice I let people walk over me and they  take advantage. I not going to totally stop being nice I just want people to know that I'm not going to let them walk over me anymore and take advantage. I also am going to stop caring what other people think about me because the more I care the less I feel good about my self so, I'm just going to block it out or laugh and go along with them like I don't care what they say anymore. I feel like that would make my year so much better. I'm also going to stop being so shy because that takes over it doesn't let me do the things I want to do because I'm so scared so that's my New Years resolution.

Out of my mind

In the book Out of My Mind by, Sharon M. Draper I really love this one quote on page 174, " I believe in me. And my family does. And Mrs.V. It's the rest of the world I'm I'm not so sure of." The reason this quote sticks out to me is because it's so strong and powerful. It's saying yeah I believe in me and so so a couple of people but the world? Would they? Like do you they care or do I just have to believe in myself and not have other people help me. Like its good but it only matters if I believe. I just really love this quote a lot. I feel like it means a lot, not just to me but to other people as well.
